Singing circles

It is a fact deeply known by many that singing is good for us. It offers us a moment out of the rush of life and It can be empowering, uplifting and moving. It can also be nerve-wracking, scary and unknown. Our singing circles aren't about judging yourself, or being perfectly in time or in tune. They're about trusting yourself just enough to give it a go - come and be part of the circle.

We always start with a moment to take a breath and feel our feet on the ground, before we sing together in harmony. Don't worry if you have never done this before, or it sounds daunting - I teach all the parts by ear and will support anyone who needs it. We sing a range of songs; some old, some new, some fun and uplifting and others slower and more relaxing.

I am also a psychotherapist and whilst my therapy work is separate from the singing spaces I offer, ultimately I am the one holding the circle and will bring with me my deep training, knowledge and experience of psychotherapy. Therefore, there may well be a therapeutic element to these gatherings that you can tap into should you so wish. These circles are about turning up as you and giving yourself the chance to really check in and connect with yourself. To have fun and gift yourself a moment where you don’t have to hold anything, you can just be.

Please note that by coming to one of our a cappella singing circles you agree to our terms and conditions.

Our singing circles are held in both Chelwood Gate and Barcombe, close to Haywards Heath, Lewes, Forest Row, Horsted Keynes, Danes Hill, East Grinstead, Crowborough and Uckfield. Unlike a choir, we meet to sing for the enjoyment of it and don’t perform in concerts.

If you have any questions, please get in touch and I will do my best to answer them.
